Inferno Of Hope: A Captivating Patriot Day Poem on 9/11

Patriot Day Poem

Today at the office, I had to write a small social media post for Patriot Day. It was for a US client. I wrote a short four-line verse as I thought it would add a bit of emotion to the post. But I ended up crying as I wrote the post. Once the office time was over, I quickly opened the dashboard to key in a poem, and that’s what is here. Hope you will like it.

A Date That Echoes – Patriot Day Poem

Sep 11—its sound chills a generation,
Haunting memories flood our eyes,
Echoes of the past cut deep,
Sometimes sharp as a knife.

Memory waves break smiles,
Or paint a gleam in tearful eyes.
What stays with us?
Just a handful of the past.

The past shapes our present,
When familiar shadows appear,
A thousand sparks ignite within,
Burning as they did back then.

Like today, with just a few words—
“September 11.”
Tears rise, uninvited,
Echoes finding their way back.
